Looks brand new is a hardback First American Edition 1984. I can't wait to get started. The Tiggy book sounds wonderful and will look for that for a cat loving friend of mine!Peggy Annhttp://peggyannspost.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-61603018811397820462012-04-21T13:58:27.904+10:002012-04-21T13:58:27.904+10:00Tiggy is a lovely story. I bought it as an e-book & was surprised it was only about 40pp. Still, well worth reading for cat lovers. I think that's the beauty of Miss Read. Her books are easy, undemanding reading but very satisfying & worth re-reading as well.lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509400868331534237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-2972828285760575962012-04-21T02:10:30.990+10:002012-04-21T02:10:30.990+10:00As a complete pushover for cat books and being bes...As a complete pushover for cat books and being besotted with my three (and all their predecessors), I will have to look out for Tiggy to add to my cat book collection!
I keep seeing Miss Read books all over the place now after years of not seeing them at all so it is maybe a sign that I need to take them home and re-read them.
I read as many as I could get my hands on twenty or so years ago when I was in the throes of new motherhood and wanted something gentle but worthwhile to read while I sat up feeding newborns and her paperbacks were just the right size to hold comfortably!LizFnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-11983853207643809192012-04-19T12:09:42.594+10:002012-04-19T12:09:42.594+10:00Kathy, they're certainly set in English villag...Kathy, they're certainly set in English villages but I think MR is much better than AC at actually describing village life & especially nature. AC can't be beaten when it comes to plot & puzzlement though. The little mysteries in MR's books don't need a Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot to solve.lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509400868331534237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-51798915159067105462012-04-19T12:08:09.577+10:002012-04-19T12:08:09.577+10:00Miss Read is definitely worth savouring.
