I've always found Rilla of Ingleside tough going -- the poignancy, the horrors of the Great War, the ageing of Anne. Do read The Blue Castle even if you don't read the other Anne books, it's plot is a little tortured but it was a brave book for the time.Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14751315680374413649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-66475736596408922252014-06-17T18:27:05.928+10:002014-06-17T18:27:05.928+10:00I've got the Emily books on the tbr shelves, I...I've got the Emily books on the tbr shelves, I'm afraid I couldn't resist the pretty new covers. lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509400868331534237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-73857324598888914762014-06-17T18:25:59.407+10:002014-06-17T18:25:59.407+10:00It is sad, I was very moved at times but Rilla is ...It is sad, I was very moved at times but Rilla is very much like her mother as a girl so the humorous moments are there to lighten the mood as well.lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509400868331534237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-46561407388205659092014-06-17T18:25:01.643+10:002014-06-17T18:25:01.643+10:00Thank you Cleopatra. UK buyers can still get the three Emily books for £4.99 from The Book People. The plotline was much more mature than the others and it was a unique look into the life of a small Canadian town during WWI.

Thanks for the great review, and lovely blog, BTW!Cleohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13152128642971612433noreply@blogger.com
