I like the idea of this book, DICKENS' Women. One more to add to my list. I think I'll read this first, then tackle Dickens.

The only book of his that I've read is TALE OF TWO CITIES. A forced read in high school. I dislike being force-fed a book, so I turned away from Dickens.

But next year I'm back.

Thanks Lyn, for a great review, as always.Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-33161635682033048412011-12-15T19:33:38.278+11:002011-12-15T19:33:38.278+11:00Thank you Bookish Space. I think this book would make you long to read something by Dickens, maybe not one of the doorstop novels but maybe Great Expectations or a biography.lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509400868331534237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-75420005076152867302011-12-14T23:49:30.435+11:002011-12-14T23:49:30.435+11:00What a great post. I really enjoy reading about how authors characters are shaped by real people.A Bookish Spacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15352870732457077916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-36454646323570360132011-12-13T19:40:29.523+11:002011-12-13T19:40:29.523+11:00Thank you Passing Tramp. Audrey, I think Dickens & the women in his life are fascinating. What a complex man. The Macaskill book is beautifully produced, I hope you can get hold of a copy.lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509400868331534237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-34666735791674293092011-12-13T13:14:13.178+11:002011-12-13T13:14:13.178+11:00I agree! There's a hint that something interesting happens with his other sister-in-law later. I'll happily look for these two, especially the second one.Audreyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14912114716426828436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-71222091790978496982011-12-13T04:01:56.633+11:002011-12-13T04:01:56.633+11:00Wonderful post on this subject.
