I'm about halfway through the Irish diary & enjoying it very much. She was certainly a practical, caring woman who used her position & what money she had to help her tenants. I thought I was reading the Memoirs, instead it's the Dublin years (thought the Dublin yrs was the Memoirs book). I see now there are 3 books of her journals. Don't yo just love her good character and writings?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-11119939781061416472011-01-12T20:20:13.560+11:002011-01-12T20:20:13.560+11:00I haven't heard of Eleanor Stewart, Val, but s...I haven't heard of Eleanor Stewart, Val, but she sounds interesting. I'd had it on the tbr for over 4 years. 700pp of quite small print looked a bit daunting but Eliza has such an engaging voice & her life was so interesting, I can't wait to read about her maried life in Ireland. I don't know how available it is in libraries but it's in print & there are probably secondhand copies out there. I hope you can all get hold of a copy.lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509400868331534237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-40190150514282827752011-01-09T00:22:13.756+11:002011-01-09T00:22:13.756+11:00This sounds really really good.
