Hayley, I had an inkling of the murderer but not the motive near the end. I'm glad I persevered with Gladys after Saltmarsh which I was ambivalent about.lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509400868331534237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-33760785446876216802011-04-17T06:31:10.988+10:002011-04-17T06:31:10.988+10:00This one left me clueless as well but I enjoyed it...This one left me clueless as well but I enjoyed it far more than the saltmarsh murders.Desperate Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15708411387912078122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-57779037475608034912011-04-16T18:02:30.092+10:002011-04-16T18:02:30.092+10:00Somehow I've missed out on this writer. I read quite a few of them when I was a teenager), The Saltmarsh Murders. But, I've enjoyed all the others I've read over the last year or so. Mystica, if you like Agatha, I think you'd like Gladys. Her plots aren't as clever but they're just as convoluted.lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509400868331534237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-91844548078778671132011-04-16T15:42:19.909+10:002011-04-16T15:42:19.909+10:00Sounds vintage Agatha Christie! would really like ...Sounds vintage Agatha Christie! would really like to get hold of this one.Mysticahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10941269615559681014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3020849054403226268.post-51467867686798362372011-04-16T14:35:07.462+10:002011-04-16T14:35:07.462+10:00It took me ages to get into the first Gladys Mitch...It took me ages to get into the first Gladys Mitchell book I read (The Mystery of a Butcher's Shop) but then there was moment when, without really realising it, I was hooked - tho' even at the end, I wasn't 100% sure who did what to whom and why! I will definitely give this one a go.bibliolathashttp://bookforgetter.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.com
